Meeting Needs
Small Things Done With Great Love
Will Change the World!
Each person who is a part of CoastlandTampa is constantly looking for opportunities to change the lives that we cross in our day to day living.
"See a need and meet it…
Feel a hurt and heal it"
We don’t wait until “the church” calls us to ask for a need to be met. We are the church – each of us. There is no program that is going to tell us how to live properly. It is very simple – we read about the life of Jesus, how he walked each day of his life and see in the pages of scripture our written job description. It’s really very simple… “He went about doing good to all kinds of people” (Acts 10:38). Any of us can do that to anyone we meet. Mother Teresa did that, day after day in diligence and obedience, for several decades, and as a result she changed the way billions of people all over the world perceived the idea of what it meant to be a Christ-follower.
We spontaneously step forward to meet a need as it presents itself in front of us.
When we are at a gasoline station and see someone who pumps $5 worth of gas into their car, it is obvious they are short of cash. Since we have our “radar” constantly set to the “on” position, we spontaneously step forward and give that person another $5 for more gas, and explain to them that we are the kind of Christ-followers who don’t just talk. We are out to change the world by doing the works of Jesus wherever we go each day – 168 hours a week. From experience, those we touch in practical ways inevitably ask us lots of questions about our faith, our beliefs, why we are different. That’s the tip of the iceberg of what we are about at CoastlandTampa.
