What We Believe . . . What We Live Out
We believe that there is one living and true God, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; and that this triune God created all, upholds all and governs all.
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of humanity; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles while announcing the Kingdom of God, and He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now makes perpetual intercession for His people.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ; we believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit.
We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the Word of God, fully inspired, without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule and the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of humanity and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God but fell into sin. In turn, all humans are sinners by nature and choice and are therefore under condemnation; and that God regenerates and baptizes by the Holy Spirit those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His Resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and, thus become children of God.
We believe in the universal Church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe in water baptism and communion open to all believers.
We believe also in the laying on of hands for the empowering of the Holy Spirit, for ordination of pastors, elders and deacons, for receiving gifts of the Spirit, and for healing.
We believe Outflow is the best way to live the Christian life. Belief and action must be found together.
We believe that the Holy Spirit acts through us as we make ourselves available. The Spirit pours into us and through us like “rivers of living water” and flows through us to bless everyone around us. The Spirit enables us to live as we are called to live, and He brings people to repentance in Jesus. God does the work, if we are available. This is Outflow — natural, real, God.
We believe in the personal, visible appearing of Christ to each believer and the consummation of His Kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous, and endless suffering of the wicked.
Imagine your life overflowing with extraordinary joy and power – and all the while, impacting everyone around you naturally and authentically! Think concentric circles, a pebble hitting water’s surface and rippling out to the pond’s edges. That’s the concept of Outflow. God lives within us and bubbles up and out of our very beings, splashing God’s life in our world—coloring it in hues of hope. Outflow is not a program – that’s the last thing people need now a days. No, Outflow is about a lifestyle. Which basically means it’s about actually doing things rather than just talking. It’s about relating to people in real and tangible ways that communicates, ‘You are precious to God and God wants you to know it.’ It’s about having such an authentic, spirit-filled relationship with God that your desire for service and outreach will flow naturally from your relationship with God. When this happens you will find yourself really caring for everyone around you. Both their present needs and their eternal needs will always be on your mind and in your heart. What could be more significant!
